Humans often use flags to mark their territory. Our earlier posts feature many colorful flags on placemats, napkins and plates. But birds have other ways of saying "This is my territory!". Use this Great Blue Heron to say it for you. Personalize your territory with a framed print of this beautiful wild bird...

Great Blue Heron's Territory

In the original photograph in this print, the Great Blue Heron, standing along the bank of a canal, sees something farther up the waterway, a possible threat to his territory. He puffs up the bluish gray feathers on his back to make himself look bigger. With his long, thin legs spread as he looks straight ahead, the bird is ready to defend his space in the green grass. Dark, rippled reflections on the water form the background of the scene. There is a wide white border around the photograph, with title and photographer's credit in small text under the photo.
