The mystique of the banyan tree...

Banyan trees are considered sacred in Hinduism, a symbol of eternal life. It is believed that Buddha achieved enlightenment while sitting under a banyan tree. The banyan tree trunk, in this original photograph, makes an intricate, complicated, intriguing image. In soft shades of grays, blues and browns, the unusual, sculptural shapes (formed by the way the tree grows) look like works by the sculptor Alberto Giacometti. What do you see in the banyan tree?

Add some afternoon sunlight to your personal territory...

This design was created from an original photograph of the interior of a train station. The afternoon sun lights up the white ticket counter with its yellow flowers and dark green base, and shines across the far window between peach colored walls.

Go warm pink...

This original photograph is a closeup of pink hydrangeas and their spring green leaves. The central pompom of flower petals almost fills the design, surrounded by jagged edged green leaves and bits of other flower pompoms on each side. The background is muted earth tones.

Cheery Spring Green, just in time for winter...

This design, in shades of natural yellow greens, is an original closeup photograph of a leaf on a banana tree. Sunlight highlights the details of the banana leaf, as its curves fall into shadows.
