Heavenly...
This original photograph of l'église Sainte-Eugénie, Biarritz, France, is a view of an upper portion of this centuries old church overlooking the Atlantic ocean. We see the spires, the round windows and the dark roofs against the warm beige colors of the stone of this beautiful cathedral. Beyond the church, at left, is the Atlantic ocean, with rocks near the coastline in the many blue colors of the sea. At the horizon, the turquoise blue sky takes on a slightly pink tone as the sun begins to set over place Ste.-Eugénie in the town of Biarritz.

Tropical Holiday Greens

This original pattern was created from an original photograph of a cardboard palm, growing at the base of a tree. The fronds have flat leaves, looking like they are made of green cardboard. Although many people refer to cardboard plant as "cardboard palm," it isn't a true palm. Instead, it's what is botanically known as a cycad. It has been around since the time of the dinosaurs, an ancient plant with a lot of character. It is native to Mexico.

Tropical Drama...

The Banana Flower

This design has been created from an original photograph of a banana flower. The photo has been repeated to form this retro tropical pattern. The colors are straight from nature, with an intricate background of yellow green, unripe bananas and the rich, dark reddish brown of the flower petals, called bracts, curving around in front. Beneath every layer lies an orderly row of little yellow-tipped fronds. These are the buds that eventually become bananas. The petals are a lighter, dusty pink color as the layers unfold toward the heart of the flower.

Mysterious shapes...

Banyan trees are considered sacred in Hinduism, a symbol of eternal life. It is believed that Buddha achieved enlightenment while sitting under a banyan tree. This original photograph shows the intricate growth at the base of a banyan tree in dappled sunlight, in soft shades of browns and grays. The shapes start to look like creatures believed, in Philippine Mythology, to inhabit these trees.
